The Open Ticket to Fitness

Cross-training, or functional fitness, is one of the most universal of exercise routines. By replicating the movements of our everyday life - pushing, pulling, squatting - participants make gains, regardless of ability or age. We can also add two other important ‘A’s - air and accessibility. With an outdoor training station, users can fill up their lungs with fresh oxygen - no gym membership is required!

KOMPAN’s outdoor fitness equipment reflects the performance value of indoor gym equipment while offering even more. Every piece of fitness equipment has been approached from a fresh angle, deconstructed, re-imagined, and built to match demanding physical training goals. KOMPAN's outdoor fitness equipment is designed to be customized and adjusted to meet the needs of the individual, ensuring a valuable workout regardless of fitness level or ability.

The KOMPAN product line, Cross Systems, is appreciated by participants and designers alike, winning the Good Design Award® in Australia in 2017 as well as the European Product Design Award.

Functional training systems are the most popular choice today for outdoor fitness locations. This is mainly due to the popularity of activities such as cross-training, boot camp training, calisthenics, and street workouts. All fitness equipment has scalable resistance, allowing everyone to train according to individual levels of fitness. The intensity can be determined by adjusting the body position to reduce or add resistance, or by opting for light, medium, or heavy weights. Highly functional equipment combined with the appropriate space for group classes and social interaction is key to motivating more people to be active.

Take your outdoor gym training station to the next level. Outdoor cardio machines and an outdoor weight set will perfectly complement the set up.

Frequently asked questions about our outdoor cross-training equipment

How weather resistant is the equipment? Can I train in any conditions?

Yes! Made from the most durable and robust materials, the equipment is built to last. Weather shouldn’t be a problem, except the most extreme of conditions. The equipment will always be ready for action. Are you?

Do I need instructions to get the most out of the equipment?

Guidance from the KOMPAN app can help lift you to new levels of physical fitness, but using the equipment should feel fairly intuitive.

Why do I feel better after an open-air workout session?

The answer lies in your question. It's the open air! Indoor air often has a suboptimal balance of oxygen, nitrogen, and carbon dioxide, especially in enclosed rooms with little or poor ventilation. No amount of filtering can clean the atmosphere indoors to replicate fresh air. But where will you find the best air, at elevation or at sea? Mountain air contains less oxygen than air at lower altitudes, resulting in a faster heartbeat and a higher calorie burn rate. A handful of studies have found athletes training at high altitudes tend to lose weight. Sea air is really beneficial. The climate is good for the respiratory organs and the skin, and also improves circulation and strengthens the body's defenses.

What is a magnetic bell and how does it work?

The ball comes in three weights, 6, 9 and 12 kilos. It goes up and down the aluminum post. The inner core contains magnets that create a resistance, so the faster you move, the greater the resistance.

What happens if you drop the bell?

When dropped, the bell will accelerate. However, the magnets slow it down by creating greater resistance.

Is orange the only available color?

No there are seven standard colors. Opportunities to customize equipment to match your gym, school or city are available.

What is the target group?

This equipment is specifically designed to be used by fitness beginners, elite athletes, and everyone in between. Clear signage allows everyone to benefit from their session.

Does KOMPAN’s cross-training enable social interaction?

Our cross-training systems are designed to enable people to train side-by-side. For trainers, this means a fast overview, enabling them to offer support and guidance when needed. Our sites are installed with breakout facilities for rest periods and social interaction.

Can cross-training systems be used for professional purposes?

Our cross-training solutions are designed to provide physical therapists and other health specialist access to equipment that is comparable to what they normally work with in their professional setting.
